Greenwich St is a historic gem in North Tribeca, originally constructed in 1887 by R.W. Tieffenberg as a seven-story factory for the R.E. Dietz Company, a renowned lantern manufacturer. After a fire in 1897, architect William J. Fryer oversaw its reconstruction, expanding it to nine stories while preserving its striking Romanesque Revival design.
