Property Overview

.

Madison Avenue is a remarkable 30-story office tower occupying an entire city block between Park Avenue South and Madison Avenue. Situated in Manhattan’s Midtown South district, the building is steps away from the lively Madison Square Park, along with numerous restaurants and shops.

Offering stunning architecture, the building provides quick access to the 6 subway line and is only a block from the N and R subway lines. Notable for its expansive 100,000 square feet floor plates, Madison Avenue serves as the North American headquarters of Credit Suisse, the US headquarters of SONY, and hosts the internationally acclaimed, 3 Michelin Star restaurant.

Originally called the Metropolitan Life North Building,Madison Avenue was designed by architects Harvey Wiley Corbett and Dan Everett Wade in 1928, with completion in 1950.

Wade, the house architect for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, and Corbett, a leading proponent of skyscraper design in the US, envisioned this building as a towering 100-story spire that would have been the tallest in the world.

However, the Great Depression halted the ambitious plan, and the structure was finished with 30 floors, although the base was designed to accommodate an additional 70 stories.

A prime example of Art Deco architecture, the building showcases the era’s setback design principles, forming a sculptural mass of Alabama limestone. It rises in a series of interconnected bays, with arches at each corner that open into an elegant double-height lobby adorned with marble inlay and ceiling designs.

Renovated between 1994 and 1997 by Haines Lundberg Waehler, Madison Avenue was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. Today, it stands as a stunning architectural landmark in Midtown South.

Situated in the focal point of Manhattan, this district is a vehicle driving bad dream, particularly close to Madison Avenue. Set up some additional cash for stopping, parking and fuel. A superior decision is the chance of office workers to utilize the public travel choices along city bicycle paths in Central Park and alongside first and second Avenues. Individuals close to Queens and North Brooklyn are utilizing their bicycles to make a trip.

Bicycle Docking stations on Madison Ave and some additional stations on Park and Lexington Avenues are in the assistance everything being equal. The Lexington Avenue train line, for example, 4 and 5 express trains, runs corresponding to Madison Avenue, and the new Q train augmentation goes through the Upper East Side. Near Midtown, the road offers more broad travel choices, for example, the F, M, N, Q, R, and W trains, express transports, and Metro-North trains that run from Westchester, Putnam, and Duchess Counties.
